Tree Planting

We offer planting for trees purchased from Friendly Natives for a percentage of the tree price. This includes delivery and planting, mulch, organic root stimulator, and a 1 year guarantee.

This price is for planting locations within 12 miles of Friendly Natives. Further distances will add a mileage fee.

Tree and shrub planting fees do not include the following:

-Staking – we do not recommend this practice.

-Difficult access to the planting site that requires extra equipment or time, such as steep slopes, fences or other barriers.

-Rock removal.

-Removal of existing trees or shrubs.

-Locating utility lines or irrigation system components.

Extra time spent due to the above factors will require an additional charge. Missed appointments may incur a redeployment fee equal to 25% of the original planting cost. Friendly Natives is not responsible for any damage to utilities or sprinkler system components.

Our planted trees include a guarantee for 1 year.

This is sufficient time for any circumstances unrecognized at the time of planting resulting in failure to thrive to be revealed. In such cases, we are happy to replace your tree on an as available basis. Substitutions may be necessary. Guarantee does not cover neglect or mistreatment, unusual weather events, pests, over or underwatering, or other conditions beyond our control. Reasonable attempt must be made to seek solutions as soon as a problem is suspected. Guarantee becomes void on plants which have been adjusted, moved, or modified by any entity other than Friendly Natives crew. Proper care must be taken to ensure the continued health of your new tree. Use the following guidelines and contact us with any questions.

General Guide to Watering Newly Planted Trees

This amount of water:

Gallon size of the bucket = gallons of water needed per week

OR Diameter of trunk X 10 = gallons of water needed per week

On this schedule:

For the first two weeks, water every day to every other day

2 to 12 weeks after planting: water every 3-5 days

After 12 weeks, one deep watering per week should be sufficient

Since so many different factors influence the growth and health of trees, this guide is not to be followed at the expense of tangible signs of decline. This guide does not account for poor drainage, wet weather, improper planting, or any other factor that may influence your tree. Some finesse is needed to know when to stray from the generic “rules.”
